I kinda like it. It certainly looks better than it's platform mate, the Sonata.

Hmm. That is a really nice looking Kia. (thoughts I'd never thought I'd have)

The Optima looks nothing like that Mustang!

You're right, it does kinda look like the 2015 Mustang.

Dat Mustang doe.

They have had some decent designs. I've had two Korean cars, but after the experience with my last one, the Elantra, I don't think I'll buy one ever again.

The design reminds me of that guy in class that you hear wheezing between powerpoint slides.

There's just way too much going on here. It would look so much better if they just simplified the design a bit (goes for most other modern cars as well).

Hyundai and Kia, are both doing right.

I agree. If they changed up those silver vent inserts on the front bumper, it would look a good bit cleaner.

Design wise, but in my opinion not power train, or reliability wise.

Looks like a camry, from the front grill, headlights and lower bumper "vents"

Shades on?

Are you referring to the shape of the headlights?

you're right.

Yep

Care to elaborate? At one point in time I was considering one before I got my Mazda 2.

I'm really not allowed to go into details, but it was a 2014, I owned it for a hellish 8 months, and it ended up getting bought back by the manufacture due to unrepairable issues. I ended up with with a Subaru, and couldn't be happier.

Gotcha. I understand, terms and all. I am looking at a Subaru BRZ myself this summer.

I LOVE the BRZ. Too bad I'm too tall to fit in one.

the only new we Korean car I have real experience with is my mom's 2013 Sonata 2.0t. It's nice enough inside although abut loud, it has plenty of power, and I don't think they have had any reliability issues with it, but it's only got about 20,000 miles on it.

I've found cars to be one of the few areas where being short is an advantage.

My grandma had the same car, though a 2011. It's engine seemed rather loud and unrefined. How does it sound on your mother's 2013?
![]() 03/26/2015 at 00:27 |

Yup, my main disadvantage is that I don't fit in many fun cars.

I've never liked how when one person has a bad experience with one car from one manufacturer they resort to telling everyone that manufacturer is shit.
I don't really blame you, but I had a Kia Forte Koup for two years and it was a fantastic car. Didn't have a single reliability issue.

too me? very quite during acceleration, and only a little drone at highway speeds, which is impressive since my parents live in TX where highways speeds are 80mph.
Certainly better than my old Civic. and faster too.

interesting. My grandmothers sounded like an old diesel.

maybe it got some revised sound deadening in those years.

Probably.
